The Good… Florida 45 - Kentucky 37 Order is beginning to be restored within the Southeastern Conference. Florida continued its win streak over Kentucky on Saturday with a high scoring thriller. Heisman hopefuls, Florida’s Tim Tebow, and Kentucky’s Andre’ Woodson put on a passing display for everyone to enjoy. However, it came down to Florida’s athletic talent on defense, as they were able to hold off the late Cat rally. Oregon 55 – Washington 34 Every week NASFA gives credit to this Oregon football team, because every week they are putting up dominating numbers and continue to win. This Oregon team deserves national attention, as everyone will continue to hear about this extremely talented team, especially on offense. The Ducks’ spread offense was taken to a new level on Saturday, as they tallied a school record 465 yards rushing. Missouri 41 – Texas Tech 10 Missouri has officially put itself in legit contention of a Big12 Title. Missouri absolutely dominated Texas Tech in every aspect of the game. Missouri shut down the “high-powered” Tech offense by picking off Tech QB Graham Harrell four times. Missouri’s offense played efficient and was able score at will. Missouri is for real. Alabama 41 – Tennessee 17 Alabama vs. Tennessee. An SEC Rivalry game? This “rivalry” game was completely dominated by Alabama. The Crimson Tide offense, led by quarterback John Parker Wilson and wide receiver DJ Hall, was able to pick apart the Volunteer defense. The combination teamed up thirteen times for 185 yards and a pair of scores. Alabama’s defense played extremely well, and was able to shut out Tennessee in the second half. |

What was being billed as a pre-playoff match-up during the preseason, the Bears and the Eagles have to be among the biggest surprises in the NFL this season. Instead of fighting for post season positions, both clubs are looking to climb out of the cellar of their respective divisions. Both teams have had some great play, and have show the ability to score and be dominant on defense, but that has been highly over-shadowed by mistakes and what appears to be lack of focus and execution. The Eagles host the Bears in Philadelphia and are coming off of a win after a buy for their ninth straight time. The Eagles historically under coach Andy Reid have turned poor starts around after the buy and will look to follow that "one game at a time" approach to get them into the post season once again. Meanwhile, the Bears enter the game having allowed over 200 yards rushing to rookie tailback Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings in a high-scoring loss. Can the Bears fight the post Super Bowl curse that has plagued almost every losing team in the big game (minus the Seattle Seahawks last season) and start to put some wins together, or will the Eagles use the momentum from last weeks win over the jets to get rolling? Here's what to look for in the game.

Before the season started this looked like a match up of two solid playoff contenders. As the season has played out it has two underachieving teams hoping to salvage their season after 1-5 (Jets) and 1-4 (Bengals) starts respectively. The Jets have given up 66 passing first downs this season, and they are 27th in the NFL in pass defense. Offensively Thomas Jones is starting to find a groove and Chad Pennington is in danger of losing his job. On the flip side, Carson Palmer is throwing up huge numbers to T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Chad Johnson, but the run game has been below average and their defense horrendous. |
