A statement was made, actually a few statements were made. Dallas completely dominated the Chicago Bears for a 34-10 win in a week three battle for NFC supremacy. In the NASFA spotlight preview we pointed out four keys to the game, all of which turned for the worst for the Bears. If the Bears were to win the game they needed to get pressure on Tony Romo, to an extent that didn’t happen. Romo was very elusive in the pocket, but overall the Cowboys offensive line, led by Leonard Davis, was able to shut down Tommy Harris and the defensive line of the Bears. Because of the good offensive line play by Dallas, they were able to run for 5.2 yards per carry, and open up the offense to playmakers Terrell Owens and Jason Witten. Chicago did get some pressure on Romo at times, but he was able to escape and find Owens for numerous third down conversions. |

The Lions will go roaring into the Linc and try their best to keep the Eagles on their slide. Meanwhile, the Eagles will bring their “us against the world” attitude back onto the field lead by their quarterback who will attempt to have his play on the field quiet his critics. The Lions have gotten off to a terrific start this year coming into Philadelphia with a 2-0 record. Their top performing Pass Offense will certainly test the Eagles secondary. Behind the tough play of John Kitna, who played with a concussion against the Vikings last week while leading them to an overtime victory has quickly won the hearts of the Detroit faithful. Meanwhile the fans in Philly are turning on their QB like no other city in the world can do. Again, another match-up of two teams going in two different directions; one looking to prove that they are for real, and the other looking to show that what the fans have seen is not the real team. |

Heading into week 3, the Arizona Cardinals and the Baltimore Ravens meet in a very important game for both teams. Both standing at 1-1, a win is much needed. Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt has brought life to the Cardinal rushing attack. Running back Edgerrin James as accumulated 220 yards and two touchdowns through the first two games, and the offensive line looks to be much improved early on. This week against Baltimore will certainly be a test for the Arizona offense. If they can move the ball effectively against this defense, they will have no problems the rest of the season. Baltimore enters this game coming off a big win against the New York Jets. Quarterback Kyle Boller stepped in last week and delivered a nice game through the air, connecting on 23 of 35 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns. Steve McNair could be back to start against Arizona, but the Ravens will have the same trust in Boller if McNair cannot go.
